Leah Yao (b.1997) is a designer and miniaturist intrigued by objects and environments that catalyze meaningful connections, often through a sustainable lens. She grew up sloshing around in the Oregon mud and crafting wands from soggy branches which forged her passion for things and spaces. Working with clients ranging from private art collectors to the Cartoon Network, her work has been featured in publications including New York Magazine and Hi-Fructose. She graduated from RISD in 2019 with a BFA in Industrial Design and now finds herself at LAIKA Studios building models, collaborating on sustainable initiatives, and supporting safe studio practices.
